Irene Marín Goñi

About Me

I’m a PhD student in Computational Biology at CIMA University of Navarra (Spain), with a background in Pharmacy, Nutritional Sciences, and Bioinformatics. Currently at Mayo Clinic, my research combines computational modeling and wet lab work to study therapy resistance in prostate cancer and drive personalized medicine forward.
I love traveling and exploring new cultures while learning about the latest advancements in science and technology. I was lucky to be visitng student at Cornell University, University of Suffolk adn Hogeschool van Amsterdam during my Pharmacy and Nutrition degrees.

Research Focus

• Gene Regulatory Network Analysis: Development and application of novel computational tools to model differential regulatory networks in advanced prostate and breast cancer.
• Drug Resistance: Exploring alternative therapies for abiraterone-resistant tumors.
• Wet Lab Validation: Functional assays with 2D and 3D models in pharmacogenomic lab at Mayo Clinic.

Technical Skills

• Programming: R, Python, Bash scripting, Git, Docker, High-performance computing and Nextflow
• Bioinformatics: Experience in multi-omics data analysis (spatial trasncriptomics, bulk and single-cell RNAseq, CRISPR screening) and pathway analysis
